.You are cordially invited to attend the event entitled "Challenges in achieving a sustainable and circular economy in Slovenia: Sharing knowledge and best practices on the reuse of construction waste", which will take place on 10 May 2024 from 9:00 to 14:00 in Dogoše, Maribor.
The amount of construction waste in Slovenia is growing rapidly. In 2020, the country generated 4.5 million tonnes of construction waste, rising to 6 million tonnes in 2021 and reaching a record 8.6 million tonnes in 2022—the highest amount ever recorded statistically. Construction waste accounted for 59% of total waste in 2020, almost two-thirds in 2021, and nearly three-quarters in 2022 (source: Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia). As construction waste continues to grow, the construction sector has emerged as a key player in the circular economy. Recognising the significant challenges facing the sector, we are organising an event as part of the LIFE IP RESTART project to promote the exchange of knowledge, ideas and best practices between construction site managers, architects and construction companies.
The event will focus on the circular economy and construction processes, exploring material recycling in the construction sector and showcasing good practice. It will also include a consultation on the main challenges facing the Slovenian construction sector in reusing construction waste.
We have designed a rich and interactive programme to facilitate the exchange of experiences, networking and meaningful interaction among participants.
Your presence will greatly enrich the discussion and contribute to finding solutions for the sustainable development of Slovenia's construction sector.
