C5 – Mobilisation of Complementary Funds

The transition to a circular economy is a complex process that requires input from a number of different sectors and types of project. The funding requirements of different projects can vary significantly, depending on their stage of development, level of risk and degree of innovation. The action will concentrate on the potential for private and public financing of circular ideas, projects and solutions. A particular focus will be on securing funding for circular projects that are managed and/or supported by municipalities at the basic level of waste management and implementation of circular solutions. To support these activities, circular finance fairs and four workshops for the preparation of projects/applications for various national and international funding programmes will be organised.

Objective: to attract external financial opportunities to promote new concepts of the circular economy. Many start-ups lack awareness of and access to adequate sources of finance to realise their circular innovations.
