Together for Circular Construction: Presentation of the LIFE IP Restart Project at the MEGRA Fair

The Ministry of the Environment, Climate, and Energy, which coordinates the LIFE IP Restart project, participated in the 35th MEGRA International Construction Fair last week (March 25–27) alongside its project partners.

We presented the project’s content, with a focus on the six demonstration actions, both at our exhibition booth and as part of the professional program on the main fair stage. Tanja Bolte, Director General of the Directorate for the Environment, opened the professional presentation of the project by outlining the challenges of construction waste management. This was followed by a comprehensive presentation of the LIFE IP Restart project by Project Manager Mateja Simčič (MECE). The six demonstration actions were presented in more detail by the project partners leading them: the action Production of Topsoil and Reclamation of Mining Areas was presented by Dr. Željko Pogačnik from Georudeko; Dr. Mojca Božič from Dravske elektrarne Maribor (DEM) presented the campaign Recycling Dredging Spoil for Increased Flood Safety, about the Action Preventing Illegal Dumping Borut Hojnik from the public company Nigrad, d.o.o., and Pia Plevnik from the company Result spoke about the campaign Urban Loops and Production of Secondary Raw Materials through Industrial Landfill Mining was presented by Dr. Alenka Mauko Pranjić from the Slovenian Institute of Civil Engineering, the Action Extraction of Critical Raw Materials and Recycling of Sewage Sludge and Dr. Tanja Bagar from the Public Enterprise Center for Waste Management Puconci.
